our history

With 35 years of experience in the magnetics industry, Allstar excels in managing a wide range of services, from just-in-time delivery to developing complex magnetic solutions.

1980’s

The Beginning

Allstar was founded in 1989 in Vancouver, Washington. It started as a specialized company dedicated to sourcing and distributing high-quality materials for transformer manufacturing. Right from the start, Allstar set itself apart by offering a wide range of products essential for building transformers and inductors. This quickly earned the company a reputation for reliability and excellence.

1990’s

Early Growth

In the 1990s, Allstar used its growing expertise and strategic partnerships to become a significant force in the magnetics industry. Through consistently delivering high-quality materials and exceptional service, the company built a strong reputation, attracting major industry players and clients. The company’s ability to adapt to market demands and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders highlights its lasting impact and enduring presence in the field.

2000’s

Permanent Magnets

In the mid-2000s, Allstar strategically expanded its focus to include permanent magnet materials. This move diversified its product offerings and addressed the changing needs of the magnetics industry. The expansion allowed Allstar to use its established supply chain and industry expertise to provide high-quality magnetic materials. These materials include rare earth magnets such as Neodymium Iron Boron and Samarium Cobalt, as well as Alnico, Ceramic, and other innovative products.

2010’s

Strategic Focus

In 2011, the company was acquired by private equity firms with the strategic objective of accelerating growth and broadening its market presence. This acquisition facilitated the establishment of specialized engineering and quality departments, which was pivotal in the company’s successful expansion into new value-added service segments, including transformer manufacturing and permanent magnet sub-assemblies. In the fall of 2017, Allstar achieved its goal of becoming AS9100 & AS9120 certified for the aerospace industry.

2020’s

Continued Evolution

In November 2019, Allstar acquired Santronics in Sunnyvale, CA and then acquired Mech-Tronics in Mount Holly, NJ in December 2023. These acquisitions established Allstar as a leading solutions provider in the custom wound magnetics industry. Allstar’s growth and manufacturing requirements led to the move into a new state-of-the-art facility in March 2022, enhancing its capabilities to manufacture very large permanent magnet assemblies. These strategic moves and new capabilities position Allstar as a premier provider of advanced magnetic solutions.
